Dance and Colour with Stephanie

Stephanie is dancing for Sport Relief. Colour in her dancing picture!.

What you need:

Stand together in a circle and demonstrating each dance move, get your children moving with this super Stephanie dance!

Reach as high as you can with your left hand
Touch the floor with your right hand
Wriggle and shake
Jump up and down with your hands in the air, 1, 2, 3!
Turn around
And clap your hands

When the children have finished their dance, they can colour Stephanie in as she dances!

Sportacus Powercards

Children can create their own Sportacus PowerCards and get active for Sport Relief at the same time!

What you need:

  • Card
  • Paper
  • Child friendly scissors
  • Glue
  • Colouring pencils/crayons

Children draw a very simple picture of a movement, like a jump or a hop. Cut out and glue the picture on cards. Put the cards in a bowl and let the children pick one each from the bowl – now everyone has to do that movement!

Giseli's Sparkling Shapes Pet Tortoise!

Why not make your own pet tortoise, like Gisele's, with sparkling shapes on its shell?.

You can use the downloadable template sheet to hand out to the children, reading the instructions aloud.

What you need:

  • Green paper or card
  • Small paper plates or bowls
  • Colouring pencils
  • Glue
  • Child friendly scissors
  • Bits of scrap – foil, big buttons, coloured card, shiny paper
  • Photocopies of our shapes templates: circle, triangle and square.

You can start with decorating your tortoise's shell, by drawing around the circle, square and triangle shapes on the template sheet. Draw around the shapes on foil or shiny coloured paper. Ask your adult helper to cut them out and stick them onto the paper plate. There – you have your sparkling shapes shell! You could even add big buttons!

To make your tortoise's head, feet and tail, all you need to do is draw around the shapes on green paper, cut them out and stick them onto the paper plate, like the picture on the template sheet. Why not add some eyes and a smile to his head as well? All you need to do now is give your tortoise a name!

  • Sportacus Power Cards (see the activity above)
  • Old newspaper
  • Sticky tape
  • Music
