Sport Relief is a nationwide campaign that harnesses the power and passion of sport to change lives for the better. By doing sport, having fun and raising money, everyone can do good and feel good.
Sport Relief launches on January 15th kicking off nine weeks of sporting fun which will culminate in The Sport Relief Weekend - an action packed three days of entertainment, events and energy designed to challenge the entire nation from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th March.
For Sport Relief 2008 we're asking everyone to challenge themselves, their family, their friends or their colleagues to do something sporty and raise cash at the same time.
The ultimate challenge is doing the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile where hundreds of thousands of people across the country will take to the streets and go the distance.
The whole of the BBC will be behind Sport Relief 2008 too - delivering brilliant entertainment across TV, radio and online.
Comic Relief spends the money to help vulnerable people living incredibly tough lives both at home in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.

In 2006 Little Britain’s David Walliams swam the English Channel in just 10 ½ hours, 12 brave stars learnt to show-jump for ‘Only Fools on Horses’ and the campaign culminated in a spectacular night of entertainment on BBC ONE.
On top of all that, a staggering 400,000 men, women and children did a mile for Sport Relief – including Prince William who ran at Sandhurst, giving his royal seal of approval to the campaign.
And the best bit – a mighty £18million was raised in the process.
The best way to get involved in Sport Relief 2008 is by signing up for the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile which will be happening at events around the country. It’s all about giving people the chance to set themselves a personal challenge, to raise money and to have fun. From running novices to marathon pros - the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile will cater for everyone and literally anyone can get involved.
This time there is the added option of doing 1, 3 or 6 miles so people can choose the distance that’s a challenge for them.
To sign up, all you have to do is visit the Sport Relief website at www.sportrelief.com.
None of the artists involved in Sport Relief are paid for their time.
Without the effort of these celebrities we wouldn't have such a fantastic campaign, so we are very grateful for their support.
