I know this is probably the wrong attitude but....

Can I just ask a question - how much is the minimum sponsorship?

Its only I quite want to do the mile as a challenge, and am willing to donate money in order to do so but am very very rubbish at sponsorship... I start with the best intentions but always end up failing to collect the cash and paying it all myself anyway!

When I looked into doing one of the cancer research runs the minimum sponsorship was £1500 - obviously beyond most people to end up paying themselves!

Feel free to ignore this as i say above its the wrong attitude to have but i've done sponsored silences, sponsored wear your pjs to work days, sponsored swimming and spelling and every single time i've only collected barely half of what was promised and hate pestering people for the rest so end up paying myself.... am only trying to find out if i can afford to do that this time!!

Hedwig.

No problem!

Hi Hedwig,

There's no minimum sponsorship, so if you want to sponsor yourself with a donation, that's fine! I hate asking for sponsorship too, but I've set up an online fundraising page at www.sportrelief.com/get-involved, which lets people sponsor you directly online, so you never have to actually collect any cash! Plus you don't even have to ask face to face, so you avoid any awkwardness!

It's sooooo easy! Might be worth taking a look...

Agree completely, Sport

Agree completely, Sport Relief have made it so easy, and taken out the embarrassment factor, but you will be surprised at how easy it is if you ask the right people, send a letter to your local newspaper, volunteering to run for those too lazy to run a mile, (or too busy) offer this service to the local radio station, the BBC local radio have fully got behind sport relief like they did last time, they may well broadcast your offer!
