Keepy uppy and being kept busy!
The Sheffield Contact Centre supported Sport Relief by taking calls from people wanting to make a donation. 120 employees including fully-trained friends and family were invited to join in with the fun. Free food and drinks were provided and we arranged our very own Sport Relief disco to keep people motivated throughout the evening.
We had some fantastic donations from our partners DSGi and businesses in and around the Sheffield area, and there were plenty of opportunities for volunteers to win top prizes.
We organised sporting activities during the day. A 1 mile fun run was held on the Green outside our centre and the penalty shoot-out and ‘keepy uppy’ competitions tested employees’ football skills to the max. Employees enjoyed grappling with their friends and work colleagues, as we brought our version of the ancient art of Sumo wrestling and Pugel sticks to the contact centre!
We collected over £80,000 worth of donations on the night, answering over 2700 calls, and maintaining an extremely high call answer rate indeed! We even raised an £300 from a DVD sale and raffles. To add to this amazing day BBC Radio Sheffield and Look North came to report on our involvement in Sport Relief and watch some of our sporty employees in action.
